Registration has now begun for the 2009 Diamond State Games Field Hockey Championships. This year marks 8th year of operation for us and we would like to invite you and/or your teams to participate in this year's festival.
Last year we had a record amount of teams spread out over two days of competition. This year, with a later date (although on the basic same weekend as last year) we would expect to draw more out-of-state teams from the north. In the past state champions from New Hampshire and Maine have joined us and we are inviting them again.
This is a great chance to get together for the first time before the 09 season or get together one more time before parting ways for the last time.
We are certain to have a dozen or more college coaches in attendance, as has been the average. This year we will try to spread the word even more.
Since we are limited to 40 teams on each day of competition, we are holding spots on a first-come, first-served basis. A $100 deposit will hold your spot. It will stay refundable until the closing registration date. Any teams beyond our capacity will get placed on a waiting list.

Divisions: PLEASE NOTE: U19, U16, U14 on June 20th. Adult and Open High School on June 21st.
Entry Fees: $440.00
Entry Deadline: April 30, 2009
Rules: USFHA
Other: 4 game guarantee. Pool play with top teams in brackets ad-vancing to the playoff rounds. Pool games will be one 40-minute half possibly switching goals at half-way mark of game (note this increase from 30-minute games in our past.) Medal rounds MAY feature two 25-minute halves (to be determined at a later date.) High School teams may use anyone from their 2008 Varsity/JV rosters (even those who have turned 19 by 6-1-09.) Open Club teams can feature anyone under 19 years of age. All ages as of June 1, 2009. Shootouts to decide ties in pool games and first round of playoffs. Sudden death OT 7x7 for all later playoff round games and medal games.
Important Note: Your team roster does not have to be finalized until three days prior to the actual competition. At or before that time the roster, along with the completed release forms, must be submitted. Send entry form with entry fee as soon as possible to secure placement in event. Make photocopies if necessary.
